The council of the City of Linn met in regular session at the Linn City Building at 6:30 p.m., March 9, 2026.
Present: Councilmembers Mike Meenen, Claire Wohler, Tyson Hynek, Evan Bott and Brent Lehman.
Absent: A quorum was present.
Presiding: Mayor Jared Hatesohl
Present also: Ambulance Director, Lisa Voelker, Kevin Richardson, Superintendent, Teresa Penning, Clerk, Bill Roth, Randy Hubbard, Deb Rogge, Nathan Edgar, Les Spence and Cynthia Scheer.
Mayor Jared Hatesohl called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
Mike Meenen moved, seconded by Brent Lehman to approve the minutes of the February 9, 2026 as presented. Motion carried.
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to approve the bills as presented. Motion carried.
Deb Rogge from Linn Housing Authority explained the Pilot Program to the Council. Jared Hatesohl reported that the Housing Authority is considering selling the lot that the city purchased with Pilot funds.
Lisa Voelker gave the Ambulance Report. There were 10 runs in February and 8 runs so far in March.
Kevin Richardson gave the Maintenance report. Mayer inspected sewer lines and will repair some lines this summer. Cash Stunkel will be working over spring break. Kevin asked permission to sell items on the Linn Consignment Sale and the Council gave their consent. Kevin asked permission to hire one summer worker and to have Jim Nutsch mow the city cemetery and the Council gave their consent. The tornado whistle was tested and made some repairs. The quarterly water tests came back good.
Mayor Jared Hatesohl talked to the County Attorney regarding selling the Linn Housing Authority lot. Maps of the sidewalk project were distributed to Council members. Jared has also talked to Rob Peschel with CES regarding the temporary 5’ easement for the sidewalk project. Jared also reported that he and Mike Meenen have had meetings with the EMT’s regarding the County-wide ambulance service.
Teresa Penning gave the Clerk’s report. There are no delinquent water customers.
Dumpsters will be available for the city-wide clean up on April 10-13th. Animal Health Center will be at the Fire House on March 16 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. to give rabies vaccinations. Dog tags will be available during that time.
Mindy Allen from Mindy’s Murals is working on some designs for the mural and will be doing a site visit this week.
Claire Wohler and Brent Lehman will be on the committee to rank the engineers for the Sidewalk Project construction and inspection services.
Ashley Holle would like the Council to preview website for the City of Linn and give feedback.
New Business
Jared Hatesohl reported that him and Mike Meenen have been discussing the County-wide Ambulance options with Randy Hubbard, Linn City EMS personnel and Washington City Mayor, Garrett Edgar. Mike Meenen moved, seconded by Brent Lehman to have Jared, Mike and Lisa Voelker to talk with the City of Washington representatives regarding options for working together to provide EMS services using the existing volunteer system to Washington County residents. Motion carried.
Nathan Edgar and Les Spence presented the renewal policy for the City of Linn. Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Evan Bott to approve the renewal for 2026 with EMC. Motion carried.
Tyson Hynek, moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to keep the pay rates and the fees for the swimming pool that same as last year. Motion carried.
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Brent Lehman to adjourn. Motion carried.
