City Council Minutes: 6/08/26

CITY OF LINN MINUTES

The council of the City of Linn met in regular session at the Linn City Building at 6:30

p.m., June 8, 2026.

Present: Councilmembers Tyson Hynek, Brent Lehman, Evan Bott, Mike Meenen and

Claire Wohler

Absent: Mayor Jared Hatesohl. A quorum was present.

Presiding: Vice President Mike Meenen

Present also: City Clerk, Teresa Penning, Ambulance Director, Lisa Voelker, and Kevin

Richardson, Superintendent, Neil Schaefer and Prairie Land Electric representative Elena

Larson.

Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Brent Lehman to approve the minutes of the May 11, 2026

meeting as presented. Motion carried.

Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Evan Bott to approve the consent agenda as presented.

Motion carried.

Lisa Voelker gave the Ambulance Report. There were 14 runs in May and one run so far in

June.

Kevin Richardson reported that they are working on the water line by Zion Church.

Unfinished Business

New Business

Prairie Land Electric explained the Franchise Agreement. The Council decided to wait until July

to decide the rate.

Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Evan Bott to rescind Ordinance #238 regarding Fireworks in

the City of Linn from July 1-5, 2026. Motion carried.

Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Brent Lehman to rescind Ordinance #229 regarding

Alcoholic Beverages for the Linn Picnic from July 10-11, 2026. Motion carried.

Neil Schaefer asked the Council about the City of Linn’s Nuisance Ordinance.

Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Claire Wohler to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
