The council of the City of Linn met in regular session at the Linn City Building at 6:30 p.m., January 12, 2026.
Present: Councilmembers Mike Savage, Mike Meenen, Claire Wohler, Jared Hatesohl and Kyle Schmitz.
Absent: A quorum was present.
Presiding: Mayor Alan Ohlde
Present also: Tyson Hynek, Brent Lehman, Ambulance Director, Lisa Voelker, Kevin Richardson, Superintendent and Teresa Penning, Clerk.
Mayor Alan Ohlde called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
Kyle Schmitz moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to approve the minutes of the December 8, 2025 and the December 22, 2025 Special Meeting as presented. Motion carried.
Kyle Schmitz moved, seconded by Mike Savage to approve the consent agenda as presented. Motion carried.
Jarod Hatesohl moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to adjourn. Motion carried.
New Council Meeting 2026
Present: Council members Mike Meenen, Claire Wohler, Jared Hatesohl, Brent Lehman and Tyson Hynek.
Absent: A quorum was present.
Presiding: Mayor Alan Ohlde and Jared Hatesohl
Present also: Ambulance Director, Lisa Voelker, Kevin Richardson, Superintendent and Teresa Penning, Clerk.
Alan Ohlde called the City Council Meeting to order. Newly elected officers were given the Oath of Office. Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to appoint Jared Hatesohl as Mayor. Motion carried. Brent Lehman moved, seconded by Claire Wohler to appoint Mike Meenen President of the Council. Motion carried. Alan Ohlde turned the meeting over to Mayor Jared Hatesohl.
Mike Meenen moved, seconded by Claire Wohler to appoint Brent Lehman as Council Member. Motion carried.
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to approve Kevin Richardson as City Superintendent and Water Supervisor, Teresa Penning as City Clerk, Jayne Lehman as Treasurer, Lisa Voelker as Ambulance Director and Elizabeth Baskerville-Hiltgen as City Attorney. Motion carried.
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to approve the bills as presented. Motion carried.
Lisa Voelker gave the Ambulance Report. There were 9 runs in December and 140 runs for the year. There are two students taking the EMT class.
Kevin Richardson gave the Maintenance report. Kevin reported the water well tests. Kevin passed his State water and sewer test. Kevin is also turning all the water valves in town with the assistance of Greg Metz from KRWA.
Mike Meenen moved, seconded by Tyson Hynek to adopt GAAP Resolution 01-26. Motion carried.
Teresa Penning gave the Clerk’s report. There is one delinquent water customer.
New Business
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Brent Lehman to appoint the following committees: Ambulance-Mike Meenen & Jared Hatesohl; Streets & Alleys-Claire Wohler & Brent Lehman; Water & Sewer-Mike Meenen & Jared Hatesohl; Clinic & Industrial Site-Tyson Hynek; Solid Waste-Claire Wohler & Brent Lehman; Parks & Cemetery-Tyson Hynek. Motion carried.
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to give Christmas Bonuses to the City employees based on the 2024 bonuses. Motion carried.
Mike Meenen moved, seconded by Tyson Hynek to give the Ambulance Director, Superintendent, Clerk and Treasurer a 3% raise. Motion carried.
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to adjourn. Motion carried.
