The council of the City of Linn met in regular session at the Linn City Building at 6:30 p.m., May 11, 2026.
Present: Councilmembers Mike Meenen, Claire Wohler, Tyson Hynek and Evan Bott.
Absent: A quorum was present.
Presiding: Mayor Jared Hatesohl
Present also: Ambulance Director, Lisa Voelker, Kevin Richardson and Superintendent, Teresa Penning, Clerk.
Mayor Jared Hatesohl called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Claire Wohler to approve the minutes of the April 13, 2026 meeting and the April 27, 2026 Special Meeting as presented. Motion carried.
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to approve the financial reports and bills as presented. Motion carried.
Mayor Jared Hatesohl reported that he asked Caroline Scoville to develop some proposed schedules for the county wide ambulance endeavor.
Lisa Voelker gave the Ambulance Report. There were 8 runs in April and 5 runs so far in May. There will be a meeting with the City of Washington representatives on May 18 to discuss working together. The new EMT students will be testing on May 27th.
Kevin Richardson gave the Maintenance report. Knox will install lights this week. The east lights by the pool aren’t working. Asphalt will be delivered this week. The County will be overlaying Elm Street next year and the city will be responsible for 5 foot on each side of the street and the curb and gutter.
Teresa Penning, Clerk reported that the Budget Workshop is this Wednesday via webinar. She will also be listening to a webinar on asbestos remediation. Teresa and Kevin have been delivering the property owner paperwork for the sidewalk project.
Unfinished Business
The “Paint the Town” Mural Project is still looking for in-kind donations for housing and meals for the 2 painters and fuel for the lift.
Mike Meenen moved, seconded by Tyson Hynek to enter into negotiations with CES Group for the Sidewalk Project. Motion carried.
New Business
A proposal for the Bulldog Development Initiative Zone addition located in the NW ¼ Section 27-T4S-R3E, of the 6th PM, Washington County from Shane Ohlde was considered. The Council decided to invite Austin Gillard to the next Council meeting to discuss the Moderate Income Housing opportunities.
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Claire Wohler to adjourn. Motion carried.
