The council of the City of Linn met in regular session at the Linn City Building at 6:30 p.m., April 13, 2026.
Present: Councilmembers Mike Meenen, Claire Wohler, Tyson Hynek, Evan Bott and Brent Lehman.
Absent: A quorum was present.
Presiding: Mayor Jared Hatesohl
Present also: Ambulance Director, Lisa Voelker, Kevin Richardson and Superintendent, Teresa Penning, Clerk.
Mayor Jared Hatesohl called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to approve the minutes of the March 9, 2026 as presented. Motion carried.
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Brent Lehman to approve the bills as presented. Motion carried.
Lisa Voelker gave the Ambulance Report. There were 19 runs in March and 3 runs so far in April. Lisa talked to the County Commissioners regarding Clifton Ambulance service going with Clay Center. The cot was repaired and the ambulance brakes replaced. There will be a meeting with the City of Washington representatives on April 23rd to discuss working together. The ambulance license was renewed.
Kevin Richardson gave the Maintenance report. Knox will install lights at the park and Kevin is preparing the ball fields.
Unfinished Business
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Claire Wohler to approve the down payment of $4,000 to Mindy’s Murals to reserve the month of August to paint the mural. Motion carried.
New Business
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to hire Gretchen Bott, Charlotte Wert, Baileigh Peters, Geni Turk and Abigail Olson as lifeguards. Motion carried.
Brent Lehman moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to approve Resolution 02-26 as presented. Motion carried.
Mike Meenen moved, seconded by Tyson Hynek to go into Executive Session for non-elected personnel for 10 minutes at 7:04 p.m. Motion carried.
Mike Meenen moved, seconded by Evan Bott to approve a 8% raise for Kevin Richardson and Teresa Penning effective April1, 2026. Motion carried.
Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to adjourn. Motion carried.
