City Council Minutes: 2/9/26

The council of the City of Linn met in regular session at the Linn City Building at 6:30 p.m., February 9, 2026.


Present: Councilmembers Mike Meenen, Claire Wohler, Tyson Hynek, Evan Bott and Brent Lehman.

Absent: A quorum was present.

Presiding: Mayor Jared Hatesohl

Present also: Ambulance Director, Lisa Voelker, Kevin Richardson, Superintendent and Teresa Penning, Clerk.


Mayor Jared Hatesohl called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.


Claire Wohler moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to approve the minutes of the January 12, 2026 as presented. Motion carried.


Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Brent Lehman to appoint Evan Bott to Linn City Council. Motion carried.


Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Evan Bott to approve the bills as presented. Motion carried.


There is a request for assistance to replace a customer’s sidewalk. Kevin will talk to the customer directly to get more information. Brent Lehman noticed that there is a street light near his house that needs replaced. 


Lisa Voelker gave the Ambulance Report.  There were 7 runs in January and 4 runs so far in February.


Kevin Richardson gave the Maintenance report. Mayer is cleaning sewer lines wet wells at sewer.  


Jared Hatesohl presented a map of the sidewalk project that is planned for next fall. The sidewalk will be on both sides of the street from Highway 15 to Main Street and from


5th Street to the Public School on Oak Street. Jared also met with Ashley Holle to discuss the projects that she was working on for the City of Linn.


Teresa Penning gave the Clerk’s report.  There are no delinquent water customers.

The Richwine Development was discussed and the status with the Economic Partnership.

The Mural Project Committee met and discussed changing the muralist to Mindy’s Murals from Junction City, Kansas. Mindy’s Murals presented a quote and will develop a design for $300. Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Claire Wohler to have Mindy’s Murals design a mural for $300. Motion carried.


Teresa presented a Budget based on last year’s expenditures.


Ashley Holle is working on a website for the City of Linn. 


The Linn Moderate Income Housing Development that Austin Gillard was working on did not receive the grant funding for the project. The Kansas Housing Resource Corporation approved 17 projects out of the 46 projects that were submitted. 


The swimming pool operations for the summer of 2026 were discussed.


New Business

The Kansas Rural Water Association notification of the annual meeting was discussed. No delegate was appointed.


Tyson Hynek moved, seconded by Mike Meenen to adjourn. Motion carried.
